Microteaching (Online)

Each OnlineMicroteaching session will involve 5 graduate student participants and 2 TATPfacilitators. Participants will take turns acting as instructors by takingtheir students (i.e., other participants and TATP facilitators) through a 10(ten) minute lesson over Zoom. Following their lesson and a brief reflection, eachinstructor will provide a brief, verbal self-assessment, stating what theythought worked well in the presentation and what could be improved. Theinstructor will then receive verbal comments from each peer in the session andfinal comments from the TATP facilitator. The instructor will then end theirsession with a final self-assessment in light of the comments just received. Allparticipants will be given time to fill out a feedback form for each instructor.These will be emailed the TATP facilitators who will then distribute each peerfeedback form to the respective instructor. You will have the option to haveyour presentation recorded and sent to you after the session.

Online Microteaching is a great option if you are looking to get feedback on online-specific teaching strategies (e.g., EdTech) or if you are primarily teaching in online settings.

Online Microteaching can be used to fulfil the practicum requirements of the following certificate programs.

• Advanced University Teaching Preparation (AUTP) certificate
• Accessible, Inclusive and Anti-Oppressive Pedagogies certificate*
• Educational Technology certificate*

*Please note: For these certificates you must identify a related teaching strategy or tool that you will showcase during the session.
