Pedagogy 101 (Online)

This workshop will demystify pedagogy by first contextualizing and defining this term and then exploring different styles of teaching in higher education. Participants will be exposed to several pedagogical approaches including, critical and anti-oppressive pedagogies, with an emphasis on pedagogies that foster inclusive classroom environments. A student-centered (constructivist) approach will allow participants to reflect on how different pedagogies impact learners in the classroom. By the end of the workshop participants will be able to identify a pedagogical approach that aligns with their own values and beliefs.
